Rare red panda born in Attica Zoological Park

The birth of a rare panda cub has excited the management and visitors of the Attica Zoological Park.

Two months ago, Jay, the red panda, gave birth to a “bear cub.” This species of animal is very rare and its population is constantly declining due to climate change and deforestation. The red panda is more related to weasels and ferrets than to bears. Now site managers are looking for a name to “christen” the little panda.

According to the head of the park’s mammal department, Antonis Bal, who spoke with ERT journalists, everyone can take part in naming the baby, as the park intends to highlight some of the leading names on social media. And Internet users will be able to vote for their favorite.
