A memorial service was held at the Beth Shalom Synagogue of Athens on Thursday for the victims of Hamas’ attack on Israel.

The service was addressed by Central Board of Jewish Communities (KIS) in Greece General Secretary Victor Eliezer, Israeli Ambassador to Athens Noam Katz, and President of KISE David Saltiel.

Several cabinet members attended, along with the president of the Greek Parliament, deputies from SYRIZA and PASOK, and representatives of the city of Athens, the Armed Forces, and Archbiship Hieronymos of Athens and All Greece.

Those attending held a minute of silence, then sang “The Song of Peace”. The national anthems of Israel and Greece were also played, while those attending lit candles in memory of the victims as they left the synagogue.
