The green bill, which is based on fluctuating prices without subsidies, is the default fee schedule for consumers who do not choose another color-coded bill.

Electricity fees on ‘green’ bills, one of four new categories of consumer bills, are significantly lower in January than they were in 2023, the Public Power Corporation (PPC) said on Monday, New Year’s Day.PPC,

The government’s system of four new types of pricing – fixed or fluctuating – expressed in color-coded bills is expected to improve competition among power companies to benefit consumers. Energy companies are expected to announce their price proposals on January 1 or 2, and to the Regulatory Authority at the same time. Consumers will get them in aggregated format to help them compare and choose the fee schedule they prefer.

PPC said in its announcement that January fees come to 13.635 cents per KW, for consumption not exceeding 500 kW per month, and 14.595 cents/KW for higher consumption. Evening fees (for consumers registered for the program) come to 11.155 cents/KW, and the basic fee is 5 euros/month.

Prices are lower than initial assessments, since electricity dropped further in January to 102 euros per megaWatt. It should be noted that retail prices in 2023, with across-the-board subsidies by the state, stabilized at 15-16 cents/KW.
