The Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC) approved the sale of electronics and appliance chain Kotsovolos to the Public Power Corporation (PPC), it said on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Commission said that it unanimously approved the 100% acquisition by Public Power Corporation (PPC) of Dixons South-East Europe (Dixons).
“PPC is active in the production and supply of electricity, mining, production, the supply and sale of energy raw materials and the provision of e-mobility products and services,” it said, adding that “Dixons is active, through the chain of stores ‘Kotsovolos’, in the sale of electric and electronic products.”
The Commission said that its ruling was based on the fact that “there aren’t any affected markets and therefore the concentration does not have any horizontal or vertical anti-competitive effects. The HCC, also, concluded that no anti-competitive conglomerate effects are created through the application by the new entity of bundled sales of electricity on a retail level and electric/electronic products.”
