TUI Says Q1 Demand for Greece up 30% from 2023

TUI says that demand for Greece among its clients remains strong and that the first quarter of 2024 is already 30% higher than the same period of 2023.
The CEO Sebastian Ebel, announced the figures on Thursday while in Greece for an event on the Rhodes Co-lab, a sustainable tourism initiative of the South Aegean Region, TUI Group and the TUI Care Foundation.
Ebel projects that overall he sees TUI bringing 10% more tourists to Greece than in 2023.
He explained that, although prices continue to rise in Greece, the country continues to attract tourists because the level and quality of services continues to rise.
TUI executives noted that the company has not seen the same growth rates in other destinations like Egypt and Cyprus, and rates in Turkey have slowed and attract tourists with a different profile.
The Rhodes Co-Lab Sustainable Destination
The Rhodes Co-lab Sustainable Destination is public-private initiative of the South Aegean Region, TUI Group and the TUI Care Foundation, which aims to transform the entire travel value chain of Rhodes to a sustainable destination.
Historically characterized by mass and all-inclusive tourism, the aim of the project is to gather all stakeholders of the island and align them will a grand strategy, designed by PwC, that focuses on regenerating the natural environment, promoting cultural heritage, and inclusive economic growth.
Speaking on the project, Governor of the South Aegean Region George Chatzimarkos said that program is initially for five years and already has over 100 stakeholders involved.
