Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapatritis wrapped up his visit to Kuwait with a meeting with his counterpart Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya on Thursday.
The discussions highlighted the 60-year diplomatic relationship between the two nations. Topics included developments in the Middle East and the potential repercussions of a crisis escalation. Additionally, the investment opportunities provided by Greece as an appealing destination for Foreign Direct Investments were explored.
Diplomatic sources noted that the meeting occurred in a very cordial atmosphere. Gerapatritis emphasized Kuwait’s constructive role in the broader Middle East, while he also mentioned Greece’s efforts in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, fostering peace in the region, and promoting stability and development. In terms of bilateral cooperation, Al-Yahya emphasized significant potential in investment and food security sectors.
Gerapatritis also discussed investment prospects in Greece with the heads of Kuwaiti investment agencies.
The visit to Kuwait marked the conclusion of FM Gerapatritis’ two-day tour to Qatar and Kuwait, undertaken during a particularly challenging period, with the primary objective of coordinating efforts to de-escalate and prevent a regional conflagration.
