Despite Greece being among Europe’s most expensive countries for short-term rentals, budget-friendly options abound.

According to analytics experts AirDNA, while luxury destinations in Greece like Mykonos boast average daily rates (ADRs) of 754.39 euros, several Greek cities offer much more affordable accommodations.

Top 3 Affordable Cities for Airbnb in Greece: 1. Soufli: A silk-producing village in northern Greece, offers stays for just 36.74 euros per night.

2. Lamia: Located in central Greece, with an average rate of 44.46 euros per night.

3. Municipality of Pavlos Melas: Near Thessaloniki, with rentals averaging 49.16 euros per night.

These destinations provide an opportunity to experience Greece’s charm without the high costs associated with popular tourist spots. AirDNA notes that 119 of Greece’s 277 markets have ADRs of 100 euros or less, offering numerous budget-friendly choices.

Affordable Options Near Athens: Marousi, Agia Paraskevi, and Egaleo, all near Athens, are highlighted for their affordability and blend of urban amenities and cultural attractions, with rates under 100 euros per night.

European Rental Market Insights: Greece ranks as the fourth most expensive country for short-term rentals in Europe, with an average rate of 253 euros per night. Iceland, Monaco, and the UK top the list. Conversely, Eastern European destinations like Kosovo, Belarus, Moldova, North Macedonia, and Serbia are the cheapest for short-term rentals.
