Greece in 2nd Place on the List of the World’s Friendliest People – Which Country is First?

For most of us living in this country who have argued at least once in our lives in traffic jams and queues, it would be hard to say that Greece is among the countries with the friendliest people in the world. However, science has spoken, and research shows different results from what we might have imagined.

At least, according to the study by Remitly. The company decided to discover the friendliest and most welcoming countries on the planet. For this reason, it used the program Prolific, selected 3,000 participants from 27 countries, and rated them based on questions grounded in the Big Five personality tests. Each answer had a score from 1 to 30, and the higher the score participants received, the friendlier they were considered.

The Top 5

After completing the test, Greece secured second place with a score of 33.71 out of 40. South Africa took first place with a score of 34.63 out of 40. “People in South Africa are warm, welcoming, and sociable, helping tourists and making them feel comfortable,” stated the Remitly report.

Croatia took third place with a “friendliness” score, while Mexico and Sweden rounded out the top 5.

“Friendliness and hospitality are crucial traits in life, especially for people moving or traveling to a new country where they might feel nervous and alone,” emphasized the Remitly report.
