First Payments Issued to Victims of Attica Fires

The Greek government has begun distributing state relief to victims of the devastating Attica fires that occurred on August 11.

On Monday, a total of 542,781.51 euros was disbursed to 121 beneficiaries following the initial round of applications submitted through the arogi.gov.gr platform.

According to the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, the payments included compensation for 114 property owners after the completion of cross-checking procedures. Additionally, seven businesses received a combined 20,000 euros as initial aid, also following the verification of their claims by the Attica Region authorities.

The cross-checking and payment process will continue as more applications are submitted, ensuring that additional victims receive the necessary financial support.
