Today, Wednesday, September 11, marks the start of the new school year across the country. The first bell ringing and traditional consecration ceremonies are scheduled for 8:15 a.m. in school courtyards.

Today, Wednesday, September 11, marks the start of the new school year across the country. The first bell ringing and traditional consecration ceremonies are scheduled for 8:15 a.m. in school courtyards.

Following the ceremonies, students will head to their classrooms to receive their books and schedules.

However, due to the onset of the bad weather system ATENA, consecration ceremonies in schools throughout the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace region have been postponed to Thursday.

The announcement reads:

“Considering the updated Weather Advisory for the AMTH Region issued by the National Meteorological Service and based on recommendations from the Risk Assessment Committee of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.”
