Greece to Host World Student Robotics Competition: “FIRST Global Challenge” in Athens

Greece is set to host the “FIRST Global Challenge,” a premier global student robotics competition, from September 26 to 29 at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).

Greece is set to host the “FIRST Global Challenge,” a premier global student robotics competition, from September 26 to 29 at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).

This year’s challenge, themed “Feeding the Future,” will feature an impressive opening ceremony at the Panathenaic Stadium on September 26, highlighted by a concert from the internationally renowned Black Eyed Peas.

Organised for the first time in Greece through the Ministry of Digital Governance, the event will welcome over 3,000 young participants aged 14-18 from 193 countries, including a group of refugees.

In 2022, the Greek National Team achieved notable success in Geneva, securing 1st and 3rd place. The competition will be broadcast by ERT, with coverage provided by ERTNEWS journalist Yannis Moutsios.
