Maria Sakkari Withdraws from Beijing Tournament Due to Persistent Shoulder Injury

Top Greek tennis player Maria Sakkari has officially withdrawn from the Beijing tournament as she continues to recover from a shoulder injury sustained during the US Open.

Sakkari, who had also missed the Cincinnati matches, decided against travelling to China due to her ongoing struggle with the injury, which has not fully healed.

Sakkari’s withdrawal from the Beijing event marks another setback in her recovery process. The injury has prevented her from competing at her best and has disrupted her tournament schedule. The decision to skip the Beijing tournament comes as part of her effort to prioritise her health and ensure a full recovery.

The 28-year-old Greek star is anticipated to begin regular training sessions next week as she works towards regaining her fitness and form.
