Starting October 30, taxi drivers who have not affixed a special sticker indicating that they accept card payments and issue receipts will incur a fine of 1,000 euros.
After the Panhellenic Taxi Federation declined to accept the stickers, citing concerns that they are excessively large and pose a safety risk, the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, along with the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), announced a new ruling. This decision grants taxi drivers a five-week period, beginning Tuesday, to obtain and display the special labels.
Meanwhile, the Taxi Federation has accused the ministry of coercion and is awaiting the official decision to determine its next steps.
