Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in his weekly review posted on the social media on Sunday referred to the draft budget for 2025 submitted to the Parliament as well as the data of the Economist Intelligence Unit, the support to the electricity bills for October and the support of the National Health System.

“With great attention we continue to follow the developments in the hot fronts of our region, participating at the same time in all the Summits held in the last days – with different compositions in Dubrovnik and Paphos – to review the situation but also to support the diplomatic efforts to put an end to the war conflicts which, in addition to the great and painful human losses, they keep the index of uncertainty in the international economic environment high”, Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in his post.

He underlined that despite the turbulent international environment, the Greek economy is proving to be resilient “I will tell you two facts that confirm this. The first is the draft budget for 2025 that was submitted to the relevant committee of the Parliament with three very important positive “news”: the increase in the disposable income of the citizens, faster growth than the EU average and the de-escalation of the public debt. The second  is another distinction that our country received from the authoritative international edition of the Economist Intelligence Unit, which places us among the 10 countries that will see the greatest improvement in their business environment worldwide in the next 5 years”.

He also referred to the electricity bills and the subsidies for 700,000 vulnerable households. The total cost amounts to 4.8 million euros and is covered by the Energy Transition Fund.

On the Health, he said that the support of the National Health System is a top priority for the government. “Without ever hiding the many problems that plague it and that we fell into from the first moment we took over, I believe that the NHS is changing. Its overall redevelopment is based on a four-year strategic plan with very significant interventions in the infrastructure as well, utilising resources from the Recovery Fund as well as private sponsorships”.
