The Region of Attica was awarded the title of “Best Greek Hospitality Region” at the prestigious Greek Hospitality Awards 2024 ceremony, held in Athens.

Upon receiving the reward Attica’s Regional Governor Nikos Hardalias said that the award does not belong to him alone but to everyone who tirelessly takes part in a collective effort to reintroduce Metropolitan Attica to the world’s most dynamic markets through a holistic rebranding.

He further added “In Attica’s endeavor, the fundamentals are not simply given; they require effort, dynamism, and, most importantly, faith and consistency in our goal. This is what we’re accomplishing in the Region through a specific strategic plan that incorporates the pillars of our tourism narrative: culture, gastronomy, walking trails, and the historic landmarks of Attica.”

Hardalias also highlighted the fact that there has been a substantial increase in average stay duration and spending as a direct result of the further utilization of the greater Athens area’s already well-known brand under the umbrella of the “Visit Attica The Greater Athens Region”.

“We understand that our responsibility is substantial and unique, but this is something we will build step-by-step, day by day, so Attica can move forward—and only forward,” noted the governor.

The Greek Hospitality Awards, now in their tenth year, are one of the premier tourism industry events at the European level, aiming to recognize and showcase the most innovative organizations, institutions, and businesses in the Greek tourism market.

The award was granted to the Region of Attica and Nikos Hardalias, acknowledging the tourism policy of the new administration for further enhancing the region’s renowned tourism product.

The initial positive results are already evident in both the region’s global market reach and in improving the quality indicators of visitor numbers in Attica, maintaining strong tourism throughout all 12 months of the year.
