EU Commission approves Tzitzikostas’ candidacy for the portfolio of Sustainable Transport and Tourism

After the conclusion of Tzitzikostas' hearing in the European Parliament's transport and tourism committee, which lasted more than three hours, the coordinators of the political groups met to evaluate his candidacy.

The European Commission approved on Monday the candidacy of Apostolos Tzitzikostas for the portfolio of Sustainable Transport and Tourism for the next five years.

After the conclusion of Tzitzikostas’ hearing in the European Parliament’s transport and tourism committee, which lasted more than three hours, the coordinators of the political groups met to evaluate his candidacy.

According to sources, Tzitzikosta’s candidacy was approved.

“The confirmation hearing of the Commissioner-Designate for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas has officially concluded. As Chair of the Transport Committee, I am pleased to say that the process was transparent and democratic, with all members adhering to the procedures. While the hearing has ended, our work continues, as we now head to the evaluation phase by the Committee coordinators. This is how democracy works in action,” Eliza Vozemberg stressed in a post on X.
