In a recent update of VisaGuide’s Passport Index for 2024, Greece’s passport holds the 19th spot globally, providing Greek citizens with visa-free access to 104 countries. The strength of a passport is determined by factors such as the ease of global mobility, the number of countries accessible without a visa, and other travel-related privileges.
The current leader of the Passport Index is Singapore, which tops the list with an impressive score of 91.27/100. This makes Singapore the strongest passport in the world. The index takes into account various factors, including visa-free access, visas on arrival, e-visas, and the level of restrictions imposed on passport holders by other countries.
Finland holds the second position, with the strongest European passport. Spain, Denmark, and Italy complete the top five, further solidifying the strength of European passports in global travel.
In comparison, the United States and the United Kingdom rank 43rd and 38th, respectively, with certain travel restrictions that limit their passport holders’ ease of movement.
At the other end of the spectrum, Somalia, Afghanistan, and Syria have the least powerful passports, with holders facing numerous travel limitations due to global sanctions and other geopolitical issues.
