Starting Wednesday, January 8, homeowners can apply for funding to support upgrades that reduce energy consumption by at least 30% and improve their homes by three or more energy categories.

Applications have officially opened for Greece’s latest energy-saving initiative, a €434 million program aimed at improving energy efficiency in primary residences.

Starting Wednesday, January 8, homeowners can apply for funding to support upgrades that reduce energy consumption by at least 30% and improve their homes by three or more energy categories.

Targeting Energy Vulnerability

The program focuses on providing support to energy-vulnerable and economically affected households, aiming to enhance sustainability while alleviating energy costs. Eligible properties include detached houses and individual apartments used as main residences.

Covered Energy Upgrades

Participants can receive funding for a variety of energy-saving interventions, including:

  • Replacing window frames for better insulation,
  • Installing or upgrading thermal insulation,
  • Modernising heating and cooling systems,
  • Adopting hot water systems powered by renewable energy sources (RES),
  • Adding smart management systems (smarthome) and energy storage solutions like batteries.

This ambitious initiative underscores Greece’s commitment to improving energy efficiency, reducing its environmental footprint, and supporting vulnerable communities in adapting to a greener future.
