The 95-year-old hierarch is being closely monitored by a medical team led by Professor Anastasia Kottanidou.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Albania visited the 95-year-old hierarch in the hospital today, Sunday – Prayers in Tirana and Durres. The Archbishop of Albania, Anastasios, remains hospitalized at “Evangelismos” in extremely critical condition. It has been 48 hours since the emergency surgery he underwent due to a bleeding episode.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Albanian government visited the hospital today, where she was briefed by the attending doctors about the progress of the Archbishop’s health and also spoke with his colleagues. It is noted that Anastasios had been hospitalized in Tirana since December 30 with a virus. However, when his health deteriorated, it was deemed necessary to transfer him to Athens on January 3.
