Gov’t launches digital safety program for children

The government has launched a “Digital Citizenship for Children” platform as part of its national program for the protection of minors from internet addiction.

Implemented by the ministries of digital governance and education, religious affairs, and sports, the educational program consists of videos, both interactive and animated, digital games, and creative activities for children from 5 to 9 years old.

The aim of the program is to support parents by providing the knowledge and skills necessary for children to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.

It includes material related to topics such as privacy, data security, online addiction, digital footprints, cyberbullying, fake news and inappropriate content.
