Scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 12 p.m., the protests will occur simultaneously in over 120 cities. In Greece, large gatherings are expected at Syntagma Square in Athens and other major city centers. The movement, spearheaded by the Association of Tempi Accident Victims, calls for solidarity and support from all citizens.

A Call for Justice and Accountability

The Association of Tempi Accident Victims has issued a heartfelt call to action, expressing gratitude for the solidarity shown so far. Their message urges the public to join them outside the Greek Parliament to advocate for their future and demand “No crime without punishment” and “Independent Justice for all.”

The association further demands an immediate investigation into the explosion and fire caused by illegal chemical cargo aboard the train, which resulted in the deaths of many passengers. They also seek explanations from Konstantinos Tasoulas, before his inauguration to the highest office, regarding the alleged concealment of case files related to the Tempi accident.

Heartbreaking Audio Surfaces

Adding urgency to the protests, a new audio recording has surfaced, shedding light on the harrowing moments following the Tempi train collision. The recording captures cries for help from surviving passengers, saying, “I can’t breathe, I have little oxygen,” as they struggled in the aftermath of the disaster.

Broadcasted by Kontra Channel, the audio reveals that emergency calls were made by passengers’ devices seconds after the collision with the freight train, highlighting the dire situation on the ground. Among the voices is that of Maria Karystianou’s daughter, a victim immortalized through her chilling last words.

As the “I Have No Oxygen” movement gains momentum, the protests serve as a stark reminder of the ongoing quest for justice and accountability in the wake of tragedy.
