Olympiakos and Panathinaikos returned successfully to Euroleague action on Friday scoring road wins that consolidate them in the top four of the table.

Olympiakos thrashed Virtus Bologna 92-70 in Italy, in a game that had its name written all over it from the start, when the Reds led 17-2.

With the distance up to 28 points just before half-time (52-24), the game was reduced to a mere formality, with the Greeks simply dropping a gear in the second half.

The Piraeus team remarkably had five players scoring 12 points each, taking it to its 20th victory in 27 games and keeping it on top.

An hour later Panathinaikos improved its record to 17-10 with a 96-93 win at ASVEL Villeurbanne.

The Greens stayed third at the table with a hard-fought win in France that also featured its new signing, German center Tibor Pleiss.

The holders were on high-scoring mode in the first half, after which they led 54-44. The hosts fought back and edged in front (76-75), but Panathinaikos stood tall and regained the advantage to win the game by three.

Kendrick Nunn made 24 points for the Greens and Juancho Hernangomez added 15.
