The budget recorded revenues of 11.663 bln euros in the first two months of 2025, ministry announces

The ministry noted that an amount of 468 million Euros which refers to the time differentiation of payments from the ordinary budget and an amount of 473 million euros which refers to the time differentiation of Public Investment Programme payments, do not affect the General Government outcome in fiscal terms.

The state budget presented a primary surplus of 2.721 billion euros in the first two months of 2025, against a target for a primary surplus of 2.029 billion euros and a primary surplus of 3.378 billion euros during the same period in 2024, according to preliminary budget execution figures released by the economy and finance ministry on Tuesday. The ministry noted that an amount of 468 million Euros which refers to the time differentiation of payments from the ordinary budget and an amount of 473 million euros which refers to the time differentiation of Public Investment Programme payments, do not affect the General Government outcome in fiscal terms.

The primary result in fiscal terms differs from the result in cash terms. In addition, the above concerns the primary result of the Central Administration and not the entire General Government, which also includes the fiscal results of Legal Entities and the subsectors of Local Governments and Social Security Organisations.

According to ministry’s figures, in the period January-February 2025, State Budget net revenues amounted to 11,663 million Euros, showing an increase of 90 million Euros or 0.77% against the target of the corresponding period, which is included in the 2025 Budget introductory report.
