This London edition of Rebrain Greece saw the largest turnout yet, with over 1,300 attendees expressing interest in job opportunities in Greece. Participants focused their questions on salary, career development, and the overall work environment.

The third “Rebrain Greece” event, designed to encourage the return of Greeks who left during the economic crisis, was a resounding success in London.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security organized the event, which attracted more than 1,300 Greeks and 26 companies seeking specialized talent.

This London edition of Rebrain Greece saw the largest turnout yet, with over 1,300 attendees expressing interest in job opportunities in Greece. Participants focused their questions on salary, career development, and the overall work environment.

A highlight of the event was the unveiling of new incentives by the Ministry, including a 50% reduction in income tax for the first seven years of repatriation, salary boosts paired with lower social security contributions, and improvements in the country’s economic landscape.

Greek officials celebrated the event as an absolute success for the third consecutive year. It provided a platform for Greeks working in the United Kingdom—across all age groups—to engage with major Greek companies offering highly specialized roles.

Minister of Labor and Social Security, Niki Kerameus, emphasized in her speech the remarkable improvement in Greece’s economic and labor conditions. “The high turnout at today’s event—as well as those in Amsterdam and Düsseldorf—clearly shows that the Greek labor market is now competitive with other major European nations. ‘Rebrain Greece’ creates a bridge between businesses in Greece and our compatriots seeking excellent professional opportunities to return. We demonstrate that the Greece of today is far removed from the one many of you left behind. While the choice to repatriate is entirely yours, our government is committed to establishing the right conditions and highlighting these opportunities,” she stated.

Addressing Salaries and Career Prospects

The program aims to reconnect Greek professionals abroad with businesses needing specialized executives for key roles within Greece. At the London event, 26 leading companies from construction, finance and insurance, law, shipping, pharmaceuticals, IT, telecommunications, technology, energy, and tourism participated.

During the economic crisis, many skilled Greek workers ventured abroad and achieved professional success. Today, their main concerns center on work culture, working conditions, and career advancement prospects. The event provided valuable information and an opportunity for many to explore returning to Greece. This sentiment was reflected in the nearly 1,000 interviews conducted throughout the day.

Deputy Minister Konstantinos Karagounis, Secretary General of Labor Relations Nikos Milapidis, and the General Director of Labor Relations, Health, Safety and Integration at Work, Konstantinos Agripidas, were also present.
