“The Great Sea Interconnector will be completed as planned. We are taking steps to ensure there are no obstacles to its progress,” Gerapetritis stated during a joint press conference.
He noted that in recent years, both nations have made significant progress in key projects, including the Piraeus Port initiative, high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and the establishment of the Center of Chinese and Greek Ancient Civilizations, as well as the Chinese School of Classical Studies in Athens. These efforts, he said, reflect the shared values and global responsibilities of the two ancient civilizations.
Currently, the Greek conference tourism generates €2 billion in revenue, ranking 47th globally in terms of total turnover in the international conference industry. In contrast, Portugal holds the 30th position, while Italy ranks 13th.
In its inaugural ranking, the index assesses 82 countries worldwide based on 24 key factors influencing immigration decisions. Each country receives a comprehensive score out of 100, reflecting its overall appeal for newcomers. Greece secured the 38th position with a score of 38.3.
The official swearing-in ceremony is set for 11:00 AM in the plenary hall of the Hellenic Parliament, where Archbishop Ieronymos will lead the religious service.
The country ranks among the top ten globally for projected net inflows of millionaires in 2024, securing the eighth position. The UAE tops the list, followed by the United States.
