While no cruise company has officially canceled their scheduled stops at the island, concerns remain, with companies closely monitoring the situation, awaiting government safety measures that will dictate how cruise ships can approach the island before making any final decisions.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Greek Ministry of Culture has shone a spotlight on a remarkable artifact from ancient Greece, the Maiden of Thera, currently featured in the exhibition “Cycladic Women: Unknown Stories of Women from the Cyclades” at the Museum of Cycladic Art, which runs until May 4, 2025.
Today (Friday): The weather will be generally clear throughout Greece, with some light cloud cover expected in the western regions from the afternoon onwards. Winds in the Aegean will come from the north at 5-6 Beaufort, while in other parts of the country, winds will be variable, ranging from 3-4 Beaufort. Temperatures will rise slightly, reaching 17-20°C in most areas, and up to 22°C in some inland regions.
The recovered artifacts include a remarkable marble funerary relief and a Roman-era ring featuring an engraving of Poseidon. These pieces were part of a broader investigation by the District Attorney’s office aimed at identifying and reclaiming trafficked and stolen Greek antiquities.
