Seven parties won seats in the European Parliament in Sunday’s election
A total of 9,796,330 voters are registered on the electoral rolls, including 4,755,686 men and 5,040,644 women. For the first time, 111,500 new voters have the right to vote.
Polls open Sunday morning for the June 9 European Parliament Elections
In the European Parliament elections on June 9 a total of 31 political parties and coalitions with 1,168 candidates will be participating in Greece.
Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis will attend the vote for the nomination of the five non-permanent members of the Security Council during the period 2025-2026, which will be held at 10:00 (17:00 Greek time) in the UN General Assembly hall
Greek voters abroad who have opted to participate in the elections via a postal vote have to send in the sealed envelope containing their ballot by May 28 at the latest, to ensure that it reaches its destination on time
The inquiry was ordered after New Democracy MEP Anna-Michelle Asimakopoulou sent a mass email to Greeks abroad as part of her re-election campaign in June’s European elections. She since withdrew her candidacy.

Participation is expected to increase further as the platform enters its final week of operation.
Voting will take place in the country's regions and municipalities where no single party candidate - or coalition of candidates - managed to surpass the required 43% threshold of votes.
Candidate mayors for Thessaloniki, Patras, and Ioannina will go to runoff elections on October 15, as they did not manage to reach 43% of the vote with partial results as of 21:30 on Sunday.
The electoral body consists of 9,775,181 Greek citizens, including 465,218 young citizens who are eligible to vote in local elections for the first time, and another 17,957 European citizens.
