The haul included over 495,000 illegal counterfeit medicines, medical devices, and other illicit products, 104 kilograms of raw materials, 773.6 grams of cannabis, eight firearms, gold bars, and more than 460,000 euros in cash. The total revenue from the criminal activities exceeded 6.5 million euros
This initiative, led by the Ministry of Citizen Protection in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Governance, marks a significant step towards modernizing a police force still largely reliant on traditional methods. The introduction of AI technology is expected to expedite investigative processes and improve their accuracy.
The operation revealed that the drugs were transported by sea, hidden in containers, and distributed across various European countries, including Greece, generating substantial illegal profits.
