An evzone shedding a tear was one of the most emotional moments at today’s military parade in Greece’s second largest city.
According to the tram and metro operator, the Syntagma metro station closed at 8 a.m. on Monday morning – meaning trains are passing through the station without stopping – and will reopen after the police gives the green light.
The parade of military and civil forces began at 11:00 on Monday on Megalou Alexandrou Avenue, with National Defence Minister Nikos Dendias representing the government. The parade was also attended by Cyprus Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas.
