The Greek Olympian from Tokyo (2021) qualified with remarkable ease for the final of the long jump at the Olympic Games in Paris, needing just one jump of eight meters and 32 centimeters in the qualifiers to surpass the qualifying limit of 8.15 meters.
Greece needed a win by Canada over Australia to avoid an early exit from the competition. Despite a tense first half where Australia led 45-49, Canada surged in the second half and ultimately secured a 93-83 victory. The quarter scores were 26-28, 45-49, 72-70, and 93-83.
"It's an incredible feeling," Antetokounmpo said after Greece qualified for the Olympics, his first appearance in the Games. "Since I was a kid, I always wanted to play in the Olympic Games.
The Olympic Games in Paris starts on July 26, with Greece playing in the first round at Lille.
